Hometown Video Awards
These awards honor and promote community media and local
cable programs that are first distributed on Public, Educational, and
Governmental (PEG) access cable television channels. Awards are presented to
creative programs that address community needs, develop diverse community
involvement, challenge conventional commercial television formats, and viewers
to experience television in a different way
NATOA - National Association of
Telecommunications Officers and Advisors
The Government Programming Awards (GPAs) are annual awards that recognize
excellence in broadcast, cable, multimedia and electronic programming produced
by local government agencies. Categories cover a variety of programming
including, among others, community events, documentary, public affairs and
public service, interview/talk show, performing arts, sports, election coverage
and children’ s issues. Celebrating over 24 years of programming excellence,
the 2009 GPA’s celebrates the achievements of government programmers across the
nation.
